Guess The Place On The Razorback
Here's a great photo sent to AIMM which shows a sailor hard at work aboard the 394. Can you guess the job and approximate year in which this submariner appears? radio room-in the 1950 1960 time frame.
Radioman, in front of URR/BRR receivers and an antenna/patch panel to upper right. Early to mid-'60's.(stencil on chambray shirt) Control Room, port aft, near WTD to Aft Battery/Galley. Jim Wimsatt QMCM(SS)USN (ret) DBF!!!! (USS PIPER (SS 409))& others......

It is indeed Radioman HITT in the radio room of the Razorback in the 60s. The radio room is the one area that the Turkish navy stripped since they still use the radio and crypto gear. Plans for the radio room include setting up a HAM radio station in order to communicate with other museum boats. Won't that be cool for the kids and the not so young kids too?
