Razorback Then and Now
Stan Walker was an EM (Electrician's Mate) aboard Razorback from 1949 until 1951.
This first picture shows Stan aboard Razorback in 1949, when she was in Hawaii. During this time, Razorback conducted one of her "Simulated War Patrols", which included extensive ASW (anti-submarine warfare) training against U.S. Navy surface forces, as well as training against British forces.
In one instance, on 19 August 1949, Razorback made a successful approach and simulated attack on USS Manchester (CL-83), despite Manchester being protected by eight destroyers (and a seaplane).
